Have bought this DVD when in Paris France in a curiosity shop of rare editions at La Bastille and I have very few infos on it. Doesn't seem to be, title, director or actors, on imdb. Choderlos de Huis-Clos is a play on word between Choderlos de Laclos, whose novel 'Les Liaisons dangereuses' is once again adapted here, and the french word 'huis-clos', title of a Jean-Paul Sartre's novel, word meaning litterally 'behind closed doors'.
It is not directly an adaptation of Laclos' notorious masterpiece, but a filmed version of a play made after the novel, 'Quartet', by german playwriter Heiner Mueller. I guess Quatre can be described as a dramatic comedy.

Soundtrack is techno and non stop techno as long as the film runs. No more luck with the 3 musicians in charge of what calls itself "A frenchcore Opera". Jim Nasty, William Morose nor Johann-Sebastian Gagh appear nowhere as far as I've looked around.

Merteuil and Valmont in this very static version of Les Liaisons, almost don't move from a couch - only the couch and the room change after some time. The two comedians (being very dull or hysterical) seem to swap roles several times and also play two other characters, Volange and Tourvel.

That is one of the weirdest production I came through for a long time. A lot of discussion on sex leading to totally unerotic context. The direction reminds me a bit of Schmid's, Lommel's or Herzog's most theatrical and static movies. I guess Antonin Artaud would have maybe appreciated.

Very Scholarly and abstract, involves a lot of de Sade 's writings atmosphere. In spite of it all I've watched it a couple of times as I find it utterly amusing and sarcastic about contemporary theater, as I hate it.

I do play it once in a while just to hear the soundtrack.
